Hemm żewġ sinjali differenti għal KELB IL-BAĦAR RASU MARTELL. L-ewwel sinjal għandu żewġ partijiet. (jew i) L-ewwel, id waħda tagħmel is-sinjal għal MARTELL billi tieħu l-forma ta’ X u titla’ u tinżel xi darbtejn bi skossi fuq quddiem. (jew ii) Imbagħad isir is-sinjal għal KELB IL-BAĦAR. Id waħda titwaqqaf mill-minkeb u bl-id forma ta’ 5 dritta bil-pala tħares lejn il-ġenb. L-id iddur fuqha nnifisha, l-ewwel naħa imbagħad oħra, orizzontalment waqt li tibqa’ fl-istess post.
It-tieni sinjal huwa magħmul minn tlett partijiet: (jew i) L-ewwel isir is-sinjal ta’ ĦUTA, jiġifieri, id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 bil-pala ta’ l-id tħares ‘il ġewwa timxi f’linja kkurvata ‘l fuq u ‘l isfel fid-direzzjoni opposta. (jew ii) Imbagħad, iż-żewġ idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ 5 ftit milwija u l-pala ta’ id tħares lejn l-oħra. Fl-istess ħin l-idejn jitqiegħdu biswit il-ġnub tar-ras u jersqu ’l barra lejn il-ġnub biex jindikaw il-forma tar-ras. (jew iii) Imbagħad isir is-sinjal imqassar għal MARTELL. Id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ X u tinżel ’l isfel bi skoss darba.
Is-sinjal għal ŻGĦIR u għal KBIR isir miż-żewġ idejn li jieħdu l-forma ta’ Ċ ‘il bogħod minn xulxin skond il-kobor tal-ħuta. Is-sinjal għal KELB IL-BAĦAR RASU MARTELL jiġi qabel is-sinjal għal ŻGĦIR jew għal KBIR.
Għall-plural is-sinjal għal ĦAFNA jiġi wara s-sinjal għal KELB IL-BAĦAR RASU MARTELL. Ġieli ukoll tintuża classifier – permezz ta’ id waħda jew tnejn li jieħdu l-forma ta’ Ċ u jitpoġġew f’ħafna punti fiż-żona tas-sinjali qisu hemmhekk qed jitqiegħdu ħafna ħut. Classifier bil-forma ta’ 5 laġenba bil-pala ta’ l-id tħares ‘il ġewwa jintuża meta n-nom ikun is-suġġett ta’ verb ta’ moviment, u jimxi skond l-azzjoni.
There are two different signs for HAMMERHEAD SHARK. The first sign is made up of two parts. (jew i) First, one hand makes the sign for HAMMER by taking the shape of X and rising and falling jerkily about twice at the front. (jew ii) Then, the sign for SHARK is made with one hand raised upright from the elbow with the hand in the shape of straight 5 with the palm facing the side. The hand rotates on itself horizontally, first to one side then the other, whilst staying in the same place.
The second sign is made up of three parts: (jew i) First, the sign for FISH is made. One hand in the form of 5, palm facing inwards, moves up and down in a curved line in the opposite direction. (jew ii) Next, both hands take on a slightly bent 5 shape and, with palms facing each other, they are held at the sides of the head. They move to the side to indicate the size of the head (jew iii) Then the shortened sign for hammer is made with one hand taking the shape of X and falling jerkily once at the front.
The sign for size is made with a classifier - two hands in the shape of Ċ. The distance between the hands depends on the size of the fish. It follows the sign for HAMMERHEAD. The sign for MANY follows the noun to signal the plural. A classifier is often used instead - one or both hands take the shape of Ċ and are placed at various points in the signing space as though several hammerheads were put into that space. One hand in the shape of 5 with palm facing inwards becomes the classifier when a verb of movement is used. It moves according to the action.
